Big Motive is an award-winning service design and innovation studio that collaborates with global brands, local governments, tech startups, and nonprofits to create future-ready digital services that meet the needs of people and the planet.
For the Development Specialist group module, in collaboration with Big Motive, we were asked to develop a tech-enabled care solution to enhance the overall experience of people receiving primary home care in their homes. To begin with, we considered older people our main focus for the purpose of this project, followed by their local GP or nurses.

To better understand the current state of home healthcare, we conducted extensive desk research on the most common issues older individuals typically encounter. According to the Big Motive project brief, 53% of home care recipients live alone, 1 in 2 cannot prepare food for themselves, and 15% are only comfortable with the web or smartphones (Laverty, 2019).
